Fox Racing debuts its new Speedframe RS MTB helmet at Eurobike

Details on the Fox Racing Speedframe RS MTB helmet

The prototype Fox Racing Speedframe RS was on show on the MIPS stand at Eurobike, with the new helmet expected to launch early next year. The current Speedframe range is already well known in the best mountain bike helmet category with features like fit, breathability and performance making it a rider favorite. The new Speedframe RS takes all these features and adds new safety and performance features to take it to the next level.

I met up with Jarred and Thomas, US Director of Cycling and EU Product Manager at Fox Racing who showed me some of the standout features on the new Speedframe RS helmet. They also told me it's been a busy time recently at Fox Racing, having launched its first-ever shoe range with the Fox Union MTB shoes, and also Fox Racing recently celebrated the return of Tahnée Seagrave to racing with the TS57 MTB clothing.

The guys tell me that the Speedframe RS has an all-new and exclusive MIPS Integra Split protection system, which combines dual-density foam layers that protect riders during high and low-speed impacts. There is also a low friction layer between the two layers designed to reduce rotational forces in a crash that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain. The Speedframe RS also has a Boa Fit system with micro-adjustability and a Fidlock SNAP helmet buckle providing quick and secure fastening.

New performance features come with the Iconic+ liner which is removable, washable, antimicrobial and manages odor. It also wicks moisture away from the head. Cooling comes via the optimized venting with channeled, in-molded EPS that aims to provide efficient air flow. The new visor is one-hand adjustable, and Fox has improved the Speedframe helmet to be more compatible with sunglasses. The front vents now have rubberized zones that securely hold the legs of the glasses.

The new Speedframe RS helmet should be available early next year with pricing still to be confirmed. Find out more on all the Fox Racing range at foxracing.com.
