Fox adds another former football star to its NFL pregame roster

Fox (FOX) -) is adding a big name to its roster just ahead of football season.

Fox Sports is adding three-time Super Bowl champion wide receiver Julian Edelman as an analyst to “Fox NFL Kickoff,” the network’s pregame show for its NFL broadcast, “Fox NFL Sunday,” the network announced on Aug. 24.

Edelman joins returnees in host Charissa Thompson, analysts Charles Woodson and Michael Vick, and NFL insider Peter Schrager. Edelman serves as the replacement for Sean Payton, who returned to the NFL as the head coach of the Denver Broncos.

"Joining FOX Sports is a dream come true," Edelman said in a statement.

Edelman, who retired from the NFL in 2021, won his three Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots alongside Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, both of whom are with Fox Sports as well. Brady signed a lucrative deal that will see him as a broadcaster for the network starting 2024, while Gronkowski had already been featured on both the pregame and main NFL shows of Fox last season.
