Since the news was announced that Rebecca Yarros’ bestselling fantasy romance series, Fourth Wing, is being adapted into a TV series, fans have been busy wondering who will be cast in their beloved character’s roles.
The five-book Empyrean series, which was only released in mid-2023, went viral on BookTok and soon became a New York Times best seller. Now, the beloved series is being turned into a TV Show with Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.
What Is Fourth Wing About?
Fourth Wing follows 20-year-old Violet Sorrengail, who is forced by her mother to give up her dream of becoming a scribe and instead, train to become a dragon rider at the brutal Basgiath War College.
The story has everything you could want in a fantasy romance novel, including an enemies-to-lovers storyline, captivating worldbuilding and of course, lots of magic.
Who Is Cast In The Fourth Wing TV Adaption?
At this stage, we don’t know who will be playing our favourite characters.
However, Yarros has given us a hint about who will be playing Violet’s love interest, Xaden, when she said he will be played by a person of colour.
“We’re just going to say he’s POC; we’re just going to leave it at that,” Yarros told Variety. “I didn’t rise to the bait of a lot of those posts, which I think probably got me some flack, but I knew we were already in development for TV, and I want to make sure that role is open to as much diversity as possible. So I was never going to give the readers my vision because I know that once you give the readers your vision, that’s what they’re gonna stick to. And I wanted to make sure we left it open to as much diversity as possible.”
