Fourth teen charged with murder of 16-year-old who died in double stabbing

A teenager has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Charlie Bartolo in south-east London.

Charlie was found with stab wounds on Sewell Road, Abbey Wood on November 26. On the same day, Kearne Solanke was stabbed nearby on Titmuss Avenue, Thamesmead.

Both 16-year-olds were pronounced dead at the scene.

Alagie Jobe, 18, of south-east London, has now been charged with the murder of Charlie and was due to appear at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Previously, Hussain Bah, 18, of south-east London, was charged with the murders of the two 16-year-olds and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

He was remanded and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on December 6.

Two other males, aged 16 and 15, have also been charged with both murders and appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on December 2. They will appear at the Old Bailey on November 6, 2023.

The Met also arrested two other 16-year-olds on suspicion of both murders. The pair have been released on bail as enquiries continue and will appear at a south London police station next February.

Following the deaths of Kearne and Charlie, Sadiq Khan said: “Violent crime destroys lives and communities. The loss of two young lives in Greenwich is devastating.”
