A fourth child has been arrested following a spate of attacks on children which were filmed using phones. Greater Manchester Police is investigating a series of incidents in Wigan town centre from February and March, with children targeted as young as nine.
Today (March 10), GMP confirmed a 12-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill. It follows the arrest of three boys, aged 11 to 13, for the same offences.
All four youths have since been bailed pending further enquiries. Detectives are continuing their investigation.

Anyone with further information following the string of incidents is urged to contact GMP. Detective Inspector Chris Broad, of GMP’s Wigan CID, said: “These arrests come from a series of assaults in Wigan town centre, where young children, the youngest being nine years old have been targeted and then assaulted whilst being filmed on mobile phones.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing and we are appealing for any information that people may have in relation to these incidents to get in touch with officers.
