TIRUPATI: A mentally disturbed man allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling of his house, which was videographed on a mobile phone by his little son.
The incident happened at Chilakalabavi area of Kadapa city in the early hours of Wednesday, but came to light only on Thursday with the deceased's sister filing a complaint with the Two Town police.
Shaik Jamaal Vali (36), working as a tipper driver, was living with his three daughters and a son, as his wife Arifun is employed in Kuwait.
According to his sister Shabana, Jamaal was leading a disturbed life.
The demise of his father Madhar Saheb a year back reportedly pushed him into depression.
On the fateful day, he took his four-year-old son to the top floor of their house, asked him to videograph his death and hanged to the ceiling. As the video surfaced on Friday, the boy could be heard weeping loudly while wielding the camera.
Deputy superintendent of police (Kadapa town) Md. Shareef said the video could become a vital tool in taking the case forward.
Two town sub-inspector Jaya Ramulu registered a case and has launched an investigation.
