Four-year-old boy dies in Centre Parcs swimming pool incident on Christmas Eve

A four-year-old boy has tragically died following an incident at a swimming pool on Christmas Eve.

Emergency services and an air ambulance rushed to the popular Center Parcs resort in Longleat, Wiltshire, around 11am today.

Lifeguards quickly began first aid at the scene and were supported by first responders a short time later but sadly the boy could not be saved and was pronounced dead.

Staff members were reportedly in "floods of tears" during the incident.

Wiltshire Police confirmed they attended the scene and said the boy's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "Sadly, it's been confirmed that a four-year-old boy has died following an incident at Center Parcs Longleat Forest near Warminster shortly after 11am this morning.

"This is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts are with the boy's family at this difficult time."
