Four things that will ‘definitely’ happen to Chelsea if Roman Abramovich sells to Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor continues to tease the prospect of buying Chelsea after Roman Abramovich confirmed his decision to sell the club.

The Russian Billionaire, who is selling the west London side after nearly 19 years of unprecedented success, raked in 18 major trophies during his tenure to become the undisputed champion of the world.

Talking of undisputed World Champions, McGregor has thrown his hat in the ring - or should we say octagon - as some of the world's wealthiest people fight for the chance to pick up from where Abramovich left off.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight and lightweight double-champion first expressed his interest in buying the club via Twitter.

McGregor later doubled down on his ambition to buy Chelsea a few hours later by sharing a video on social media.

The Irishman's clip, which is thought to be taken off the eFootball franchise, is of him as the Blues boss; in the game, you can customise how your player looks and the 33-year-old made a character of himself with his iconic beard.

UFC press conferences

Chelsea's post and pre-match press conferences would never be the same again; not only would it be an absolute gold mine for content, but the chaos and mayhem would be unrivalled.

Conferences would be held in the evening at the home team's stadium, opening the doors for fans to come and ask questions.

There would be pre-match face-offs between managers, players and owners, heated trash-talking, bodyguards, flipped tables, thrown water bottles.

You name it. Late arrivals, entrance music, taunting songs from the crowd, and managers would be slamming their trophies - or should we say belts - on the table.

Dana White becomes director of football

If McGregor were to become the owner of Chelsea, then Dana White would almost certainly become the west London side's new director of football.

The UFC president would not only sign the best fighters, but he'd also take a keen interest in contracting the next generation of talent.

Chelsea would become the home of British football - the end game - for the players, just like UFC in the martial arts scene.

Just imagine the Premier League's new-look UFC press conferences with White and McGregor sitting at a table with Antonio Rudiger - now tell that Chelsea wouldn't be halfway to winning before a ball has been kicked!

Rudiger captaincy

Rudiger would be named captain, a leader of men, always up for a fight, a wind-up merchant, but most importantly, one of the world's leading defenders.

Now, had we not mentioned the German international's name, McGregor would have been valid profiling.

The 29-year-old centre-half would lead Chelsea into war, without question, over land or sea, taking the fight to the opposition under any circumstance.

Chelsea's beer sponsor stripped

Sorry Singha, but if McGregor were to take ownership of Chelsea, then the club's new alcohol sponsor would naturally become the Irishman's very own brand of whisky, Proper No. Twelve.

There would be no more beer served at Stamford Bridge, only whisky and maybe Guinness at a push.
