Four summer items rising in price by up to 28% as warm weather hits

The weather is finally warming up in the UK - but seasonal changes also mean retailers will be looking to take advantage of in-demand items.

Comparison website PriceSpy has looked into prices of popular summer items to see how they've fluctuated over the last year as the temperatures heat up.

Some of the most commonly sold items at this time of year include fans, BBQs, tents and sunglasses.

In the worst case scenario, one product was found to be 28% more expensive on average price compared to 2022.

It serves as a good reminder to always shop around for the best prices before you hand over any cash.

Liisa Matinvesi-Bassett, UK country manager at PriceSpy, said: “It’s clear the impact that inflation is going to have on popular must-haves this summer, with prices already significantly up compared to 2022.

"As we move further into summer and temperatures continue to rise, it’s a safe assumption that prices will continue to gradually creep up.

"With premium items like BBQs seeing much higher than inflationary price increases, shoppers must remember to do their research before parting with their money to ensure they’re getting the best deal available.”
