Four people rushed to hospital after Falkirk farm blaze

Four people have been rushed to hospital after a fire ripped through a farm in Falkirk overnight.

Emergency services were called to South Muir Farm on Standrigg Road in the Wallacestone area shortly after 3am.

Firefighters have spent the morning trying to extinguish flames.

Locals reported seeing an orange glow light up the sky, with thick black smoke billowing into the air.

It's not known at this stage how badly injured those involved are or if any animals have been affected.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Around 3:06am we were alerted to a well-developed on South Muir Farm, Wallacestone, Falkirk.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where crews remain."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service around 3.45am on Sunday 27 February regarding a fire at a property on Standrigg Road.

"Four people were taken to hospital."
