Four men have been charged in connection with the alleged hit and run death of a Scots woman in Canada.
Police in Toronto say further arrests are anticipated following the death of Erin Yoxall from East Lothian.
The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital after she was struck by a white Mercedes in the downtown area of the city in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, April 14.
Tragically the University of Edinburgh graduate died on Saturday from her injuries.
Officers have confirmed to Canada’s CBC News that three of the suspects charged were from the Toronto area - while a fourth, aged 44, is from Mississauga.
A 42-year-old man “surrendered himself” to officers on Tuesday.
He is now facing charges of "dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death, public mischief and obstructing police".
CBC confirmed he appeared in court on Wednesday morning along with the other three suspects.
The remaining two, aged 41 and 44, and the Mississauga man were charged with "failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death, public mischief and obstructing police".
Erin's friend, Adam Kolubinski, told the news network she would be "sorely missed".
"She had bottomless empathy, which is what makes all of this so much worse: she'd never, ever do this to someone," he said.
"She will be sorely missed and her family and friends are all shocked and devastated that she's gone. It's senseless and it's a waste of a beautiful, promising life."
