Four killed in two separate accidents in Anantapur, Kurnool districts

Two persons were killed and six others were injured in a road accident at Midthur on National Highway No-44 in Anantapur district in the early hours of Friday.

According to Padimi police, a driver, identified as S. Yadav, was killed on the spot when the van he was travelling in hit a parked lorry on the way to Hyderabad. The lorry driver had parked his vehicle close to the median on NH-44 to change a punctured tyre.

Within seconds, a Hyderabad-bound Volvo Garuda bus of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation(TSRTC) from Bengaluru hit the van, killing the bus driver, identified as G.V. Reddy, on the spot. The front portion of the bus was badly damaged.

Six passengers, who were injured in the accident, are receiving treatment at the Gooty Government General Hospital and are said to be out of danger.

In another accident, an APSRTC bus reportedly hit an autorickshaw at Chinna Kambaluru village of Rudravaram mandal in Kurnool district on Friday morning, leading to death of two daily labourers identified as Shilar B and Mariamma.
