On a tragic note, Taiwan's National Fire Agency (NFA) has reported that a devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the island, resulting in the loss of four lives. The fatalities all occurred in Hualien County, which was near the epicenter of the quake, as confirmed by the NFA.
Additionally, at least 57 individuals have been injured, with the majority of cases originating from Hualien, according to the agency's latest update. Among the injured, the NFA highlighted that one of the victims was a hiker.
