TIRUPATI: Four persons were killed and eight others sustained injuries in a road accident reported at Pulicherla mandal in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district on Saturday morning.
According to the Chittoor district police wing, a group of family members from Nandyal were travelling to Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu in their SUV. A cement laden truck crashed into the SUV near a private college in Pulicherla mandal along the Kadapa-Chittoor highway on Saturday morning.
Four persons identified as Lakshmi Devi, Prathap Reddy, Vimala and Sivamma succumbed to injuries on the spot.
Eight others who were wounded seriously have been shifted to Chittoor and Tirupati for better medical care by the police.
Pulicherla police registered a case and shifted the bodies of the deceased for postmortem.
