Four children were found in a boot during a multi agency garda checkpoint on Tuesday.
Monaghan Road's Policing Unit were conducting a number of checkpoints when one family was stopped travelling on their holidays.
The family, travelling in a jeep, had luggage on the rear seat, with four children found to be sitting in the boot area.

They were not wearing seatbelts.
The family were stopped until second vehicle arrived, and they then continued on the journey safely.
A Fixed Payment Notice was issued.
A garda spokesperson said: "Yesterday Monaghan Roads Policing Unit were conducting a number of multi agency checkpoints accompanied by the Road Safety Authority, the Food Safety Authority and Monaghan Co.Council Environment Section.
"A number of detections were made.
"One family was stopped travelling on their holidays in a jeep with the luggage on the rear seat and four children sitting in the boot area and not wearing seatbelts.
"They were stopped until such time a second vehicle arrived in order for everybody to continue the journey safely. A Fixed Payment Notice was issued.
"Please don't take unnecessary risks on our roads. Always make sure that everyone travelling with you is wearing a seatbelt."
