British Sandwich Week, which began on Monday, celebrates the humble sandwich and the contribution the industry makes to the economy. This year the organisation have narrowed down the best spots in Scotland to grab a sarnie using TripAdvisor reviews, reports the Daily Record.

Bon Tea Room
Located on St John's Road in Corstorphine, is a favourite amongst locals for its afternoon tea. While its delicious-looking cakes and bakes are worth a visit alone, it is the homemade sandwiches that are the highlight — with customers being able to pick their own fillings.
Honeycomb Tearoom
An independent café found on Morrison Street in the capital's West End. Like Bon Tea Room, there are a tasty assortment of treats to try, but during British Sandwich Week you need to check out its delicious sandwiches.
Polentoni
Found on Easter Road in the city's buzzy Leith district, the friendly Italian deli serves up pastries, coffee, and, of course, sandwiches — with its delicious daily menu well worth a gander.
Thirsty Pallet
On Elm Row, ran by a mother-and-son team, the friendly café and sandwich bar offers cured meats and cheeses, charcoal bread, and homemade cakes.
