When you just can't be bothered to cook or after you've sunk a few pints, there are few things better than a good takeaway meal.
Fortunately we're blessed with choice here in Bristol when it comes to restaurants which rustle up delicious food to go, covering a wide range of different cuisines.
Fans of fish and chips are particularly well catered for with some of the finest chippies in the country found here, with six recently being named among the very best in the UK .
And those who prefer to opt for Indian takeout are also well and truly covered - as four fast food curry houses in Bristol are in the running to be crowed the best in the country.
The English Curry Awards, now in their ninth year, celebrate the very best curry houses in the industry.
The ceremony, which takes place on August 19, will see the top restaurants crowned in each region of the country.
A spokesperson said the awards 'honours those who work their hardest to perfect every meal and provide the best possible dining experience'.
Of the six takeaways in the South West vying to be victorious, four are in Bristol.

Jalalsha claims to have some of the best collections of Indian food on offer, as well as exotic choices, catering to various taste buds and needs.

York Road, Montpelier
Mela has built up a huge following for its huge vegan range and affordable, well-sized portions.
