Four arrested on suspicion of drink driving offences in one night in Mid Ulster area

Four different people were arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of drink driving in East Tyrone , police have confirmed.

The arrests were made in Dungannon , Cookstown and Coalisland on Sunday night and in the early hours of Monday morning in separate incidents.

The four men arrested in relation to the incidents are aged in their 30s and 40s, with two of the men charged with driving offences.

“There were four arrests made in the Dungannon, Cookstown and Coalisland areas on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol in breath and other offences on Sunday night/ early hours of Monday,” a police spokesperson said.

“Altmore Drive area of Dungannon in the early hours of Monday (28th March) – a 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol in breath and driving with no insurance later released on bail pending further enquiries

“Chapel Street area of Cookstown - a 44-year-old man charged with driving with excess alcohol in breath, using a vehicle without insurance and no driving licence.

“He is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on 20th April. As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

“Glencairne area of Dungannon - today (Monday) at 1am - man aged 38 charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath. Due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on 20th April. As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

“Moor Road, Coalisland - Sunday (27th March) around 11.25pm – man aged 30 arrested on suspicion of driving when unfit through drink or drug and other offences released on bail pending further enquiries.”
