It wouldn’t be a new Fortnite season without a new set of challenges to face. These challenges will run until the first regular set of weekly quests drop on Thursday, so this is your chance to get a bunch of easy XP to start the season. Chapter 3 Season 4 offers a bunch of cool new weapons and locations, so these challenges look to get you familiar with all of them.
We’ll go through each challenge and give you some tips on how to easily complete them for a sweet 20k XP for each one you complete. If you want a rundown of everything that’s new this season then check out our summary of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4.
Deploy a Port-A-Bunker at a named location
Replacing the Port-A-Fort for this season is the new Port-A-Bunker. This item can be found anywhere items are normally found, and all you have to do to use it is throw it at your feet. When you do a one-by-one bunker will spawn around you, protecting you from any immediate danger and giving you a moment to heal or reload. As for named locations, go to anywhere with a label on the map like Tilted Towers, or if you haven’t discovered anywhere yet, head to a place marked with question marks.
Eliminate an enemy player within five seconds after sprinting with Chromed
In the new Chrome chests, you’ll be able to find the Chrome Splash item. If you use this on yourself then you’ll enjoy a limited time covered in Chrome. While you’re in this state, sprinting will be much faster and you’ll take the form of an amorphous blob. All you need to do is get a kill within five seconds of popping out of that mode. If you’re having trouble getting kills, then take a look at our Fortnite beginner’s guide for some tips.
Emote at The Flairship, The Driftwood, and No Sweat Insurance
These three locations are not named on the map, so you may have trouble finding them. Here’s where to find each one.
- The Flairship – The blimp floating above the Rave Cave.
- The Driftwood – The pirate ship floating above Lustrous Lagoon.
- No Sweat Insurance – The building floating just above the ground in Tilted Towers.
Evolve EvoChrome weapons by dealing damage
These new weapons can be found in Chrome chests, and have the unique feature of growing in power as you deal damage with them. Evolving the weapon means increasing its tier and boosting its stats. You’ll need to do this five times for the challenge, so get out there and start blasting anything that moves.
Knock down a Timber Pine and dislodge a Runaway Boulder in a single match
Your best bet for this is the snowy region in the northwest corner of the map. On top of many hills, there is a boulder that you just need to tap a few times to dislodge. As for Timber Pines, these are the very tall trees in the snowy region with thick trunks. Just hit them with your pickaxe and they’ll topple over.
Purchase from a Mending Machine
Mending Machines are most commonly found at gas stations. The easiest one to get to is the one just south of the centre of the map, on the main road leading south. These machines will give you healing or shield items in exchange for a small about of bars.
Use Chrome Splash on a structure and phase through it within five seconds
This challenge shows off the other use of the Chrome Splash, which is the ability to walk through walls. Regardless of what the wall is made of, if you throw a Chrome Splash at it then you’ll be able to pass right through. The only extra thing for this challenge is to make sure you do it with a bit of speed.
