Fortnite weekly challenges: Where to find a Marksman Rifle and The Driftwood

Fortnite has come out with another set of weekly challenges and this set is, quite frankly, tedious. Rather than weird or interesting tasks, we’ve just got to do some basic tasks several times. This at least makes it a little easier to earn the 20k XP each challenge provides, but it might be a bit dull. If anything, it’s best to let these challenges run in the background as you slowly complete them during the rest of the season.

If you want an overview of everything that’s new in the recent Fortnite update then check out our roundup of all the biggest changes. Plus, we have a guide to last week’s challenges if you missed them.

Deal damage to opponents with a Marksman Rifle from at least 75m away (150)

The Marksman Rifle, also known as the DMR, is a great sniper rifle that favors an increased rate of fire over high damage. It’s not the kind of one-shot kill weapon that the Hunter Bolt Action Sniper is, but it’ll serve you better in a firefight. 75 meters isn’t too big of a distance to shoot, just try to stay out of sight and pick the right moment to take your shot. It shouldn’t take too many hits to rack up 150 damage.

Deal damage to opponents with SMGs or Assault Rifles (1000)

This is a challenge you’ll likely fulfill naturally as long as you don’t neglect these two types of weapons. There are a bunch of different SMGs and ARs in Fortnite right now, so if you prioritize using these weapons, this challenge is easy.

Deal damage to Supply Llamas (500)

You may have already seen these weird guys around, but they’re the purple and blue llamas that roam the wilds. These things will start to flee when startled, and will eventually vanish altogether. They have a lot of health, so once you find one, feel free to start unloading everything you have into it and you’ll get the required damage in no time.

Destroy Chrome structures (100)

This is the most tedious of all this week’s challenges. It’s not difficult by any means, it’ll just take a while. Some locations on the map are naturally chromed, so destroying them is easy, but if you cut down chromed trees you can get your hands on Chrome Splash, which will cover any structure in Chrome instantly. Now we’ve said the word “chrome” too much and it sounds meaningless, but get used to it, since it’s the whole theme of this season.

Gain shields from Jellyfish, Shield fish, or Slurpfish (200)

It’s fishing time! Each of these fish will give a fair amount of shields when you eat them, but what you catch is random. If you go to a location like Lustrous Lagoon, you’ll be able to grab a fishing rod from a barrel and start fishing. You can also get them out of coolboxes or ice machines which spawn on the side of various buildings, usually gas stations or grocery stores.

Land at The Driftwood and collect 100 bars in a single match

This is a two-stage challenge and both challenges have to be done in the same match. The Driftwood is the floating pirate ship, it used to be at Lustrous Lagoon but has now moved south and is floating by the river in between Greasy Grove and Rocky Reels. Getting 100 bars in a single match isn’t the easiest task, but make sure to loot every chest you find and pick up the bars of eliminated opponents and you should manage it.

Visit the Reality Tree and Herald's Sanctum in a single match

Although it’s no longer in bloom, the Reality Tree is still around in the southwest corner of the map. Herald’s Sanctum is most of the way across the map, just east of the center, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to get there before the storm cuts you off. The best way to do it is to land at one of the locations and find a vehicle as soon as you can to take you to the other.
