This is the end, beautiful friend. Of everything that stands. No more safety or surprise.
The blue bus is calling us. Driver where you taking us?
Fortnite’s Chapter 2 has been a mixed bag. The map is pretty lackluster. The challenges have gotten increasingly terrible.
But we’ve had some good seasons. The Season 2 ‘Spy vs Spy’ theme was fun. The Season 4 Marvel superhero was great. The ‘Primal’ season, not so much. The most recent season with its utterly awful punch card challenges—give me a break.
I’m ready for something new—though judging by the leaked trailer, something new might just be a return of the Chapter 1 map.
We’ll find out more soon enough. ‘The End’ is nigh. The Fortnite live-event takes place today at 4pm ET / 1pm PT and should last about 15 minutes. In that time we’ll find out what happens to the island, how the new map arrives (it was via a black hole that lasted several days last time, long ago before the COVID-19 pandemic even started) and what the Cube Queen has to do with it all.
I’m excited. I’ll be playing and streaming the event as it happens on Twitch. You should log in to the game about 30 minutes before ‘The End’ live-event kicks off. If you can’t get in to servers, check out my stream or the stream of your favorite Fortnite ‘influencer.’
There will be a special playlist for ‘The End’ so make sure you join that and then you can just hang out in the game until things start to go down.
This is the end, beautiful friend. Of our elaborate plans, the end. Of everything that stands, the end. No safety or surprise, the end.
I'll never look into your eyes again.
There will be some downtime after the live-event. After that, Chapter 3 will kick off with the new map. I’m not sure exactly when, but expect some kind of delay between the event and when the new Chapter starts.
Good luck and happy hunting, young padawans!
