‘Fortnite’ Telescope Locations: Where To Repair Damaged Telescopes (Foreshadowing Quest)

Fortnite Epic

Fortnite has started to tease the theme of season 7, which is going to be an alien invasion. To celebrate, they have kicked off a new questline called “Foreshadowing” that has XP prize challenges live as of right now. Two have gone live today, including one that asks players to repair 5 damaged telescopes.

You have probably seen working telescopes around the map before, but these broken ones just got added, and are presumably needed to see the aliens on the way. There may be more than five on the map, but the ones I’ve located so far are seen in the map below. Note, before you go to any of these, you will need 20 metal to repair them, or else you cannot complete the challenge.

To recap, we have:

  • A damaged telescope on the south west end of the Lighthouse island.
  • A damaged telescope on the far west edge of the map on a ridge near small islands.
  • A damaged telescope to the north west of the radio tower near Craggy Cliffs.
  • A damaged telescope on the snowy mountain immediately south east of Retail Row.
  • A damaged telescope just a short ways from the shore at the south east of the entire island.

If I find others, I will add them, but you only need these five to complete the challenge. There’s another new challenge that has gone live which tells you investigate a downed black helicopter, and we’ll have a separate guide for that up shortly.

There are five of these challenges in total I believe, and it’s not clear if they award anything but XP, but it doesn’t look like it. No alien-based prizes unfortunately. We are also supposed to get an actual UFO visiting the map soon which abducts players, gives them full health and shields and teleports them somewhere else, but we’ll see if those have gone live yet alongside these quests. My guess is no, but keep an eye out for them. An eye out with your newly repaired telescopes, I guess.

This is bound to be an interesting finale to the season, and it all starts today. Stay tuned for more developments including a look at the alien ships and beings themselves, as soon as we find them. More to come.
