In case you were worried the period between Halloween and the holiday season would be quiet for Fortnite, never fear, as yesterday’s update kickstarted Skywalker week, marking the third time this year Star Wars has taken over the game, and the second season in a row Harrison Ford has featured as an exclusive skin after last season’s Indiana Jones skin.
While all the skins and items are available on this in-game store, there is a small set of quests for one week only that earn you 20k XP for each you complete. This essentially makes them an extra set of weekly challenges, so we’ll tell you how to complete all of them and get these rewards.
Search Star Wars chests (10) - Fortnite
Rather than trying your luck with the random loot from chests, you can find these unique Star Wars chests dotted around the map to get guaranteed Star Wars weapons and items. They all sit in little white tents around the map, usually a little ways off from the main POIs. If you select the quest in the menu, they’ll show their locations. It’s best to land at one of these locations, as other players will be trying to get them as quickly as possible.
Block shots using a Lightsaber (15) - Fortnite
Lightsabers are extremely powerful weapons in Fortnite. They do a lot of melee damage, you can throw them in a pinch, and they’re able to block all incoming bullets if you block them correctly. To block with a Lightsaber you just need to hold down the aim button with it equipped.
This will only block shots directly in front of you though, so make sure you’re facing the attacker when you do it. On top of that, if you shoot at the feet of someone blocking with a Lightsaber, your shots will get through, but hopefully, your opponents won’t know that.
Complete a bounty from a Stormtrooper - Fortnite
Along the main roads (marked on the map if you track the quest), you’ll find some checkpoints guarded by Stormtroopers. If you talk to them you can buy an E-11 Blaster Rifle with bars, but you can also accept a bounty. This will give you an enemy player that you need to eliminate within a time limit. Succeed in getting your target and this quest will be completed.
Assist in defeating Darth Vader - Fortnite
Darth Vader is back as a boss fight this season, but it’s a little different from last time. Rather than flying into the map at the start, he spawns at a consistent location. To the southwest of Greasy Grove is a small Imperial camp with a ship landed there, this is where you’ll find Darth Vader. He’s a tough boss, so you’d ideally want to go in with a squad, and as long as each of your deals some damage during the fight, you’ll all complete this challenge if you beat him.
Deal damage to opponents with Star Wars weapons
This is a 5-stage quest, so make sure you go through all of them. They just require dealing a lot of damage. Thankfully, all of the Star Wars weapons are quite powerful, so as long as you land in the right spots to get your hands on them, like the Star Wars chests or Stormtrooper checkpoints, you’ll gradually rack up the damage throughout the week.
