'Fortnite' Season 8, Week 3: Where To Find The Hidden Battle Star In The Loading Screen

Fortnite

Fortnite is back with another loading screen as a reward for completing all of week 3’s challenges, and once again, it is hiding a secret battle star. And it’s one of the most well-hidden ones I can remember seeing.

The loading screen itself shows off the sidewinder skin stealing some sort of precious artifact dodging poison darts (new trap incoming?) like the Indiana Jones knock-off she is. It now occurs to me that they have given her a snake theme when Indy specifically hated snakes which I find kind of hilarious.

Anyway, in the bottom left of the screen there is something on the wall that…may be a little hard to decipher:

Fortnite

The markings look Aztec, meaning that you would imagine that we would be heading to the new pyramid zone, Sunny Steps. But in reality, this location is not there, but it is nearby. Where you want to go is actually a location in the forest west of Sunny Steps and east of the volcano itself. Here’s what that looks like from the air.

And here’s exactly where it is on the map when you zoom in:

Fortnite

The location is a little shrine at the base of the volcano which doesn’t lead anywhere, though there is usually a chest on it. As we know, there are a bunch of different structures built onto and into the volcano, and this is one of the lesser known ones, so I would not blame you if you had no idea where this was just from looking at that hidden symbol in the loading screen.

I haven’t completed all the challenges yet, but according to the picture, I believe that the battle star is going to spawn on top of the stairs over the archway part. You either have to build up to it to get there, or you can walk around the right side of the volcano base and up to get there.

Fortnite

This is one of the more fun hidden battle stars I’ve had to find because I genuinely had no idea where it was and had to do some exploring to find it. That has to do with this being a location, but also that symbol on the screen which was a little cryptic as well.

We are still many, many weeks away from the reveal of the Discovery skin, but if he’s anything like The Prisoner, he (or she) may have a significant role in Fortnite’s “story” and help reshape the map like we’ve seen with the Prisoner’s volcano here in season 8.

Hopefully this guide was helpful to you, and if it was, please share it with others who might get some use out of it. See you out there.
