'Fortnite' Season 5, Week 3 Challenges Revealed And How To Solve Them

Here are all of Fortnite’s Season 5, Week 3 challenges and how to solve them.

Fortnite’s fifth season is fully under way as a third week of challenges just landed.

From skeet-shooting to finding hidden treasure, there’s a whole new batch of challenges for both Battle Pass holders and free players alike. Here’s every Season 5, Week 3 challenge and how to solve each one:

The rest of these challenges are more straightforward.

Hidden Battle Star (Road Trip Challenge #3)

There’s also the Week 3 Road Trip Challenge. Here’s where to find the hidden Battle Star once you’ve completed every other challenge.

Deal 500 damage to opponents in a single match / Explosive eliminations

This one is probably going to be easiest in 50 vs 50 mode (which is true of most challenges, actually.) Your best bet is something that can do big damage to lots of enemies at once, like a grenade or rocket launcher. Unlike most deal-damage-challenges, this one has to be done in a single match so you’ll need to pull down fairly big numbers in one go to succeed. You could do this simply by eliminating five players, but that’s easier said than done, which is why 50 vs 50 is helpful.

Bonus: If you use explosives to deal 500 damage in a single match you’ll easily knock out your explosive elimination challenge in the process (you need 3.)

Use a Launchpad

This is also probably best in 50 vs 50 as this ‘trap’ is abundant in those matches. If you happen to find one as loot, just build a ramp with a platform at the end, lay down the launchpad and take a jump. This is one of the easiest challenges I’ve ever seen. It’s so easy I’m not sure it qualifies as a challenge.

Search Chests in Fatal Fields

Fatal Fields

Located just to the west of the new desert zone, Fatal Fields is one of those areas of the map that just feels a little empty now. Of course, with players searching all over for chests it won’t be empty for much longer. Here are some chest locations to help you out. Remember, these won’t spawn every time.

  • In the long barn at the north end of Fatal Fields you’ll often find a chest on the upper floor which you’ll need to break down to or build up to. There’s often a second chest on the ground floor below.
  • Right in the middle of Fatal Fields there’s a small shack with a chest spawn behind the haystack.
  • To the southwest of Fatal Fields there’s a wooded area. Next to the biggest tree you’ll find a chest.
  • On the southern end of Fatal Fields you’ll see a barn. There’s a chest tucked in beside the hay-bales.
  • There’s a small stream in the northern section of the map that ends in a little cave. You’ll often find a chest right there.
  • There are usually a couple of chests scattered throughout the big house in the center of the area.
  • Check in the silo which pretty much always has a chest.
  • Check the top floor of the big red barn which you can build up to or land on and break down to.
  • The other wooded area to the east will typically have a chest as well.

There may be more but this should get you started.

Eliminate opponents in Haunted Hills

Haunted Hills

This is a much harder challenge than we’re accustomed to. Instead of eliminating 3 opponents like we’ve had to the previous two weeks (in Retail Row and Paradise Palms) this week we need to kill 5 in Haunted Hills. Spooky.

I can offer no better advice than to just stick with it and good luck. These can be a pain—I had the worst time in Retail Row, for instance—or these can be a breeze—I took out three opponents in two consecutive matches in Paradise Palms last week—but there’s nothing really to it other than sticking with it and doing your best.

If you’re good at the game this should be fairly easy. If you’re new or still have trouble in combat the best kind of practice is just going in and fighting and dying and fighting and dying until you win. Eventually you’ll get those eliminations and be that much better at the game.

In any case, that’s all the challenges for this week. Here are links to the previous two weeks’ challenges:
