Fortnite Season 4 continues barreling forward in week 2, this time bringing not only new Battle Pass challenges and the infamous Thanos limited time mode, but also new additions to the map, which now seems like it’s going to be a weekly thing as we head toward season 5.
The Battle Pass is always important if you’re trying to rack up loot in Fortnite, but that’s especially true this season, as completing a majority of the week’s challenges will get you a mystery legendary skin at the end of the season, and you’re not going to want to miss that.
We are midway through week 2 at this point, so I thought it would be a good time for a refresher on these challenges and how to solve them, along with some new clues about the mystery items popping up on the Fortnite map.
The Battle Pass challenges for week 2 are:
- Search Chests in Greasy Grove (7)
- Consume Hop Rocks (7)
- Deal damage with Suppressed Weapons to opponents (500)
- Dance in front of different film cameras (7)
- Search between a Scarecrow, Pink Hotrod, and a Big Screen (1) (HARD)
- Explosive Weapon Eliminations (3) (HARD)
- Eliminate opponents in Tomato Town (3) (HARD)
While you don’t have to complete all the weeks for the final Blockbuster skin reward, I think this week is easier than most, to be honest, so I would give it a shot.
Consuming Hop Rocks is practically a gimmie, given how easy they are to find in Dusty Divot, but also the other smaller craters on the map. Suppressed weapon damage just means some hits with a silenced pistol or SMG. Explosive weapon eliminations is a harder challenge, but remember that when you down an enemy in squads or duos, if you finish them off with an explosive, it counts for this. Tomato Town kills will be a mad scramble as this challenge usually is. Drop there at the start, and keep trying to get at least one early kill against all the other people that will be dropping there trying to complete the same challenge.

But that’s not all! While that’s the gist of the Battle Pass challenges, I definitely think you should also head to Wailing Woods where this week, a new mysterious hatch has been added to the map. It’s unbreakable, unless you Port-a-Fort it, but even if you do, you can’t go inside it. Many have compared it to the hatch from LOST, but I think it’s more of a doomsday bunker for the giant missile that may or may not be launched from the villain base by the end of the season. Perhaps the most interesting part of the bunker is that it has some mysterious scribbling on the back of it that no one has been able to decipher yet. Is it a map? A code? Maybe you’ll be the first one to figure it out.
