The curtain will finally fall on Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 as the Doomsday Device event has cleared the way to Season 3.
The Device, which was last night's season-ending event, saw some drastic changes to the Storm and also destroyed much of the Agency HQ.
Along with the tease of a first-person mode, the massive storm that circles the map and shepherds players together is now a huge wall of water players are calling the tsunami.
It's not clear yet if this new take on the storm is a temporary event feature, or if it could be leading up to an even greater change to the map in Season 3.
If you missed the event, catch our replay of the events from last night's live blog.
All our questions will soon be answered as there is only one day left until the new season.
As you might expect, rumours about what could possibly be coming next are spreading like wildfire.
What has Epic Games revealed about Season 3?
The official Fortnite Twitter account today has been tweeting small teasers here and there.
For instance, it has been posting obscured images and people on Reddit are looking for deeper meanings to the teases.
So far Epic has shown us the following pictures:
- A golden trident
- Something which seems to resemble a golden bone or appendage
- What looks like an astronaut holding some sort of mini-moon ball
- A sunbed which could possibly be on a yacht
More teasers are sure to be dropping throughout the day, so make sure you check Fornite's Twitter account.
What could be coming in Fortnite Season 3?
From sightings of John Wick in the Device event the last night to Aqua Man's golden trident, there's plenty to speculate about ahead of the next season.
A Twitter account which frequently shares Fortnite news and leaks caught a screenshot of a moment in the Device event, which seems to show a character who looks suspiciously like Keanu Reeves' character, John Wick.
Keanu Reeves coming to Fortnite would be completely outside the realm of possibility if it wasn't for his upcoming cameo in Cyberpunk 2077.
It definitely seems like something the reclusive actor would want to get involved in and you can't deny the above picture does bear his likeness.
Next, we've seen Fortnite tweet a picture of a golden trident and it's all but officially confirmed that Aquaman will be in the game now.
Jason Momoa, the actor who played Aquaman in the recent DC film, has shared the exact same teaser image on his Instagram story.
Another teaser has popped up on TikTok of all places, which shows sharks swimming through water as ominous music plays.
Will there be a new map?
One of the biggest questions left to answer is if the map will be changing any more than it already has.
The Device event last night, which saw Midas' Doomsday device activate and destroy the storm, has left a huge wall of water surrounding the entire map.
It is unclear if this wall of water will remain or if it is going to come crashing down and flood the entire map altogether.
Here is a look at the new tsunami storm in Fortnite. Suffice it to say, we expect the map will look incredibly different tomorrow when Season 3 officially starts.
Is there going to be a first-person mode?
One key moment from the doomsday event saw players teleported into a white room, where they were put into a first-person perspective.
Once this moment was over, however, one player reportedly became stuck in the first-person perspective and it didn't seem to impact the game at all.
Check out this clip someone recorded where they were playing and shooting in first-person.
In fact, it looked like it was working perfectly, so much so that people think it could be a new game mode coming in season 3.
A first-person mode which you can toggle on and off already exists in the original PvE Fortnite Save The World mode, so it doesn't seem like a stretch to suggest this could be added.
Maybe it will be a new game mode or maybe it will be a permanent feature which you can switch on and off.
Fortnite Season 3 will go live tomorrow, June 17, on all platforms
