Much has changed when it comes to weekly challenges in Fortnite’s Season X, which I’m going to be calling Season 10 because that’s what it is.
For one thing, instead of traditional Weekly Challenges, we now have Mission bundles. You still solve challenges, but the rewards are less straightforward. Completing challenges unlocks new challenges, and completing all of those then unlocks harder “Prestige” challenges, or “Missions” as they’re now being called.
Confused yet? It is a little confusing, no doubt. The idea here is that each week will be themed somehow. So this week is Road Trip, which takes us back to the Road Trip challenges in Season 5. Other weeks will have other themes. This could be a cool twist to the weekly grind. We shall see.
In any case, the challenges currently available for Week 1 are below. Click on the links to go to our guides for those challenges:
- Visit Drift painted Durrr Burger Head, a Dinosaur, and a Stone Head Statue (3)
- Deal damage to opponents while riding in a vehicle (200)
- Destroy stop signs with the Catalyst Outfit (10)
- Ride a zipline in different matches (3)
- Search a Chest in different named locations (3)
- Visit Lazy Lagoon and Lucky Landing in a single match
- Get trick points with a vehicle (250,000)
So that’s Week 1. There will also be a number of Prestige challenges available. These are essentially the same thing but harder. For instance, you’ll need to visit the Durrr Burger Head, a Dinosaur and a Stone Head Statue all in the same match. And instead of destroying 10 total Stop Signs, you’ll need to destroy 7 in one match. They’re the same thing but tougher, basically. We’ll see how that plays out in practice.
Also, it doesn’t look like you unlock a secret loading screen or anything like that so no hidden battle stars or anything this season. Alas, no Fortbytes either.
Update: In fact there does appear to be a secret in the loading screen. You can see what that points to right here.
