Fortnite’s first live concert kicks off Saturday.
The live event, which features DJ Christopher ‘Marshmello’ Comstock, is the first of its kind in the battle royale game. We’ve seen rockets go off in real-time; giant purple cubes appear; an entire map covered in a snowy spell by a diabolical Ice King—but we’ve never had a live music event.
It’s pretty cool, even if you’re not a fan of Marshmello’s electronic beats. The whole thing has been a nice surprise and a fun way to keep Fortnite fresh and fun and basically unlike any other video game out there.
So when does this concert kick off and how can you watch it?
- The start time is 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 7 pm UTC.
We don’t know how long the event will last, but it’s likely there will be a special LTM associated with it so that people can gather and listen and dance without being eliminated and kicked out of the match. Whether that means damage will be turned off or respawns enabled remains to be seen. I’d prefer to see something like the staging island where you can shoot people but not kill them. That would reduce griefing and let everyone just kick back and have fun.
To get to the concert venue itself, simply head to Pleasant Park’s soccer field:
Here’s a video showing you where to go:
Going there will get you the ‘Keep It Mello’ emote which you need to finish the final Showtime Challenge. See all those challenges here.
What music Marshmello plays, and what else happens as part of this unique event, remains a mystery. If you can’t make it into the game to watch, simply refresh this post starting at 11 am PT. I’ll have live footage of the event in real-time embedded below.
