Fortnite Late Game Arena mode is making its return

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is reaching its last few weeks, but it’s still pulling out a bunch of surprises for players. While we may have reached the bottom of the barrel in terms of new content this season, that doesn’t stop popular old content from making a triumphant return. On that note, it has just been announced that the Late Game Arena mode is coming back on August 30, making for more fun competitive modes.

This mode is often used to practice for tournaments, as it mimics the scoring of some formats. Even if you’re not looking to compete at a high level, it can be a fun experience to focus on more than just getting the victory royale, just know you’ll likely be competing against some of the most elite players.

You can play either Solo, Duos or Trios, with a slightly different scoring system depending on which you play. You score “Hype” points based on both placement and kills, so you’ve got to get involved in the action and take out opponents if you want to get the best scores. It also ties into general Arena mode, which tracks your rankings and can put you in contention for tournaments and competitions if you perform at a consistently high level.

There are also some shifts in how the mode works, for example, you get more materials from breaking objects, so you can build a lot more and gather resources a lot faster. It creates a very aggressive and fast-paced mode where you’ll constantly be fighting for an edge.

It hasn’t been announced how long this mode will stick around, but based on previous examples, you can reasonably expect it to stick around for at least the duration of the next season, giving you plenty of opportunities to earn “Hype”.
