Scary season is just around the corner, and the Fortnite leaks for Fortnitemares 2022, the battle royale’s annual Halloween event, have already begun. Prolific Fortnite leaker HypeX posted a few tidbits on Twitter about what to expect from this year’s seasonal event and what seems like the new limited-time mode. Where Fortnitemares 2021 pit players against waves of Cube enemies, Epic may be bringing boss fights back for the new Halloween event.
HypeX said the upcoming event files include a boss with the code name “Freaky.” Previous limited-time mode boss fights saw players face off against the Storm King boss, so unless Freaky is a variation of the Storm King, it looks like Epic is adding a brand-new boss this time.
UPCOMING HALLOWEEN BOSS (Codenamed "Freaky") 🔥

HypeX said Freaky can summon enemies to protect itself with and will drop a Pumpkin Launcher, fireflies, and a new Mythic weapon that also has the codename “Freaky.”
In a separate post, HypeX said data miners uncovered a new ammo type called “Phantom Ammo” in Fortnite’s files, though whether this is something separate from the Freaky weapon or is tied to something else, they didn’t say.
Phantom Ammo could play a role in the new Fortnite mech unit Epic is reportedly working on, though with the number of crossovers and new challenges Epic adds to the battle royale, the two could be completely unrelated.
Whatever Epic has in store, you can guarantee new Fortnite skins and weekly challenges are part of the package.
