The Unreal Editor for Fortnite, or UEFN, is expected to be shown off for the first time in a State of Unreal live stream event this afternoon.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated launch of Fortnite Creative 2.0 UEFN later today, Fortnite devs Epic Games will be showing off what it's calling the "next evolution" of the creative mode that already exists within the battle royale title. The crown jewel of the release is the UEFN, a dedicated PC program that will give players significantly more creative freedom than ever before, with assets from third-party apps like Maya 3D and Blender able to be imported for the first time.
The launch of the UEFN has been delayed a number of times now; having originally been set to be released in December 2022, it was first delayed until January 2023, with the release date eventually being pushed back to March 2023. But following the launch of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 a few weeks ago, Fortnite Creative 2.0, and the UEFN, finally got a firm release date and is finally set to go live today at around 4pm GMT / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT.
Ahead of its release, Epic and Unreal will be hosting a dedicated State of Unreal live stream, which should go into detail about exactly what the UEFN can do, what's new in Fortnite Creative 2.0 and more. We've rounded up all the latest info about the confirmed start time and how to watch it.
Fortnite Creative 2.0 State of Unreal: how to watch
The State of Unreal live stream event will begin at 4:30pm GMT / 12:30pm EDT / 9:30am PDT and is scheduled to end at 5:45pm GMT / 1:45pm EDT / 10:45am PDT.
The live stream will be available to watch on the Unreal Engine YouTube channel, but we'll link the live stream below for you, so you can watch it right here!
The video description tells us that we'll get a "glimpse at what’s in store for the future of game development and the Epic ecosystem", with Epic and other partners set to take the stage, and it also promises that it will "dive into the latest Epic tech", which we expect to be the UEFN.
The Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) can already be added to your wishlist ahead of its release, simply go to the Epic Games Store and click "add to wishlist", you'll then be able to download it directly onto your PC when it releases.
