Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has been fully detailed by Epic, and Fortnite’s new cyberpunk anime theme is set to drench the battle royale in all things neon.
The next major Fortnite patch, update 24.00, has been released to coincide with the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Despite usual server downtime lasting around four hours, this update is currently live, giving us a much clearer idea of what new weapons, vehicles and map changes will be implemented to kick things off in the new season.
The last major round of changes came with update 23.40 towards the end of last season where players could jump into the Fortnite Most Wanted event, enjoy fresh additions to Season 1’s reality augments system and a range of new exotic weapons that could be acquired from cold-blooded vaults.
Coinciding with an entirely new Fortnite Season, however, means 24.00 brings with it changes and additions that are a lot more substantial. Fortnite Mega is overwhelmingly themed around Anime, so expect most of the additions to tie in.
You can find the full patch notes on Epic's website but we've included them below so you can identify what's new and what’s being changed.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 patch notes
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is officially dubbed Fortnite Mega, tapping into all things Cyberpunk and anime to let both new and veteran players duke it out with a neon coat of paint. The only confirmed crossover so far this season is with Attack on Titan, with Eren Jaeger now confirmed by Epic to arrive later on in the season as part of the Battle Pass.
The other main focus of this patch is the addition of two new vehicle types, a bevvy of weapons – both completely new and returning from the vault – and some futuristic changes to certain map POIs.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 map changes
The centrepiece for all this anime-inspired cyberpunk action is a fresh new POI known as Mega City, which will be introduced to the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 map and bring with it plenty of new methods of traversal. Chief amongst them is tube and rail grinding, letting players slide to get around while still able to use their equipped weapons. Mega City will give a significant area of the map a futuristic makeover, coated in neon-drenched lights in a similar way to the Rave Cave as seen with Fortnite Chapter 3.
Mega City isn’t the only new map alteration in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Offering players respite for the futuristic metropolis will be a much more naturalistic addition within the southeast section of the island. It also riffs on a Japanese theme, but winds the clock back instead of forward and consists of cherry blossom trees, multileveled ancient temples and an open courtyard.
