Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 map 'leaked' - and it includes some huge changes

Last week, Fortnite finally revealed the launch date for Chapter 2 Season 2, stirring huge excitement up among eager players.

While the new season won’t go live until February 20, what appears to be a map for the new season has been leaked online.

The map was anonymously shared on 4Chan alongside what the poster claims to be a cinematic for the second season.

Popular data miner ShiinaBR has now shared the images on Twitter.

She wrote: “A possible leak of the upcoming Season 2 cinematic + map was posted on 4Chan. The pictures are super blurry, but that's nothing new when it comes to 4Chan leaks (lol).”

The cinematic appears to include four skins from the current Battle Pass - Turk vs Riptide, Journey vs Hazard, Remedy vs Toxin and Rippley vs Sludge.

Meanwhile, the map’s layout is almost identical to the current map, but includes several big changes at Slurpy Swamp, Steamy Stacks and Misty Meadows.

However, ShiinaBR does not believe the the images are real.

She added: “In my opinion, the pictures are faked, but there is a chance that they are real.”

Chapter 2 Season 2 will launch alongside another big change, in the form of a new physics engine.

Epic Games explained: “Beginning with the release of the 11.50 update in early February, Fortnite will be moving to Unreal Engine’s Chaos physics system.

“At launch, the goal is to ensure that Fortnite still feels like Fortnite. Along the way there will be some bumps, so we’re starting tests with a small group of players.

“We’ll also closely monitor feedback and make improvements over time.”
