Here it is, our first hidden object hunt of Fortnite Chapter 2. Epic seems to want most of the exploration here in the first week to be more or less freeform, because all the challenges right now are pretty straightforward: discover locations/landmarks, do damage, etc. But there is one location you might need help with if you’ve made it all the way to the end of the challenges: we’ve got loading screen secrets, like in previous seasons, but this time they’re a little bit different. If you complete 8 challenges in a given mission you get a loading screen, and in that loading screen is one of the letters “F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E”. Get all of them for the season long challenge skin. I just unlocked the first one, so read on for a map, guide and location for where to find the “F” in the “New World” loading screen.
So, first off let’s take a look at the loading screen. It’s our favorite default buddies looking out at an untapped wilderness, somewhere on the southern edge of the map.
It’s a bit tough to see at this scale, but the “F” is just sort of sitting on a hill in the middle-ish of the screen:
That’s Lazy Lake there in the middle, one of the new POIs that I think is meant to be some sort of resort. You’re heading to a hill just to the east:
If you haven’t unlocked Lazy Lake yet, it’s in the South, slightly inland from the coast and north of Misty Meadows.
So head onto the hill and grab it, just sort of sitting there. In my game it’s all sort of glitched out, but I suppose it’s an “F” nonetheless:
And there you have it! Go there to grab an easy challenge completion and make some progress towards the challenge skin at the end of the season. It’s not the hardest one in the game, but it might be tough since we’re all turned around on the new map. This is where you’re heading, so go forth and conquer. Stay tuned for more challenge guides as the season goes on.
