Fortnite Bytes quests: How to tune the TV

Bytes is one of the outfits unlocked through the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass, and anyone who unlocks him will now be able to complete a new set of quests in Fortnite. Each of these quests will unlock an alternate style for The Nothing’s Gift pickaxe, so if you use that regularly it’s definitely worth trying these out.

These challenges are quite big in scope, but you’ve got the entire rest of the season to complete them, so there’s no rush. We’ll walk you through how to start this questline, what all the quests are, and what you get for completing each one.

Tune the TV while wearing the Bytes Outfit - Fortnite

This is the starting quest for Bytes, and it doesn’t offer any rewards. However, its vague description has some people confused. If you select this challenge in your menu you’ll see two markers, one is in a house just west of Herald’s Sanctum, and the other is in Lustrous Lagoon. If you go to either of these locations (it doesn’t matter which one) you’ll find a TV you can interact with, just hold the button down and the TV will eventually tune in and play a small voice clip giving you some story context.

Every Bytes quest - Fortnite

Each of these quests must be completed in order, and they’re deliberately set at quite high numbers, so each one will take a while. Still, if you focus on progressing them a bit each match, you’ll cycle through them in no time.

  • Deal 2500 damage to opponents with EvoChrome Weapons.
  • Drive 5000 meters in Chromed Vehicles,
  • Pass through 10 Chromes structures in different named locations.
  • Search 20 Chrome chests.
  • Deal 2500 damage to Chromed wildlife.
  • Eliminate 20 opponents at a Chromed named location.
  • Chrome 10 opponents.

All Bytes quest rewards - Fortnite

By completing each quest you can unlock the following alternate styles for The Nothing’s Gift pickaxe.

  • Dread Claw.
  • Sharpened Sunburst.
  • Razer Thorn.
  • Reaper’s Lament.
  • Skewer.
  • Chaotic Edge.
  • The Thrasher.
