‘Fortnite’ Anomaly Location: Where To Investigate An Anomaly At Shark Island

I lost track of the Fortnite plot sometime around Season 5 which was, coincidentally, the first time it really had a plot. Since then it’s been a dimension hopping, reality bending minefield of a thing, and Chapter 2, Season 6 is certainly no exception. Agent Jones is now on a quest to save reality, I guess, and that has something to do with the dude trapped in the Zero Point and these anomalies that have been messing around on the map for years. Oh well—I’ll let the lore explainers figure these things out, because I’m just here for the challenges. Let’s get into where to investigate an anomaly by Shark Island.

This one is pretty cool: the last anomaly quest had people solving a little gem puzzle in Lazy Lake, and this one is another little mini puzzle tucked away in the northern side of the map. This one is at Shark Island, which first debuted as part of the spy season which was…ten thousand years ago? Something like that? It’s very hard to tell.

If you go to the north side of the island, you’ll see these three little beacon things, depicted at the top of the article. If you go near any one of them, the crystal butterfly will appear and go dive into the ocean. You might be tempted to follow it, as I did, but it’s not necessary.

What you’ve got to do is go near each one of these beacons and look at the figure it displays. I’m not sure if this is different for each player, but each one will show some sort of action: for me it was dance, crouch and jump. Do the action near each beacon to activate it. Do all three, and an anomaly will spawn in between them. Build up to it and investigate to complete the challenge.

That’s all: I hope these continue to be fun little mini-puzzles, because it’s a good take on the sorts of weird little hidden things we’ve had in this game forever. I presume they will continue to make no sense, but I resigned myself to that long ago.
