Forth Valley College strike action cancelled for two days amid pay dispute

Forth Valley College has cancelled strike action, including at their Falkirk campus, for two days amid an ongoing national pay dispute.

The college had been due to strike on Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11 but this has since been cancelled across both days.

The next date for planned action is Thursday, May 12 but exams and commercial training programmes will not be disrupted by this.

Additionally, in the best interest of students, full time, evening and apprenticeship programmes will go ahead wherever possible.

Where classes are not going ahead, departments will liaise with students directly to advise of any other arrangements in place.

All of Forth Valley College's campuses across Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa will also remain open for self-directed study during strikes.

Learning Resource Centres, The Gallery Restaurant, refectories, salons and gyms will also remain open, the college confirmed.

Interviews will be rearranged but no students will be disadvantaged in regards to their bursary, childcare or EMA funding either.

Industrial action has been going on since late April and is expected to go on until the end of May unless a resolution is reached.

College Employers Scotland is continuing to meet up with EIS-FELA to try and reach an agreement and avoid further striking.
