The release date for the latest season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive has been revealed.
Ever since the 2022 F1 season finished, fans have been waiting patiently to see what went on behind the scenes over the course of the campaign. Netflix have finally revealed that they won't have to wait too much longer with season five set for release next month.
The documentary cameras spent the entire year following the F1 circus around the globe. All the major moments will have been captured from completely new angles, while there will no doubt also be plenty of footage showing events that the TV cameras did not broadcast at the time.
Fans are expected to be treated to a fly-on-the-wall look at Max Verstappen's second title win and the underlying struggles which prevented Lewis Hamilton from going for glory. George Russell will also have his first season driving for Mercedes covered.
There will no doubt be plenty of drama on offer too, particularly after a season in which it was revealed that Red Bull had broken budget cap rules in the previous campaign, causing a huge fallout up and down the paddock.
F1 'silly season' also provided plenty of talking points, not least McLaren's axing of Daniel Ricciardo as he continued to struggle. Details of the legal battle between the Woking-based outfit and Alpine over the future of Oscar Piastri will also no doubt make for interesting viewing.
Fans will be able to see it all when the latest season of the Netflix show is released next month. It was announced on Thursday they they will be available to view from February 24th in the UK.
Having boycotted the last series of the show, champion Verstappen will feature once again having had his concerns about the series being over-dramatised assuaged by the producers. The rest of the drivers and the team principals are all expected to feature to give their takes on the year's action.
A new teaser trailer was also shown off at the same time as the release date was confirmed, though it has clearly been carefully put together as to not give too much away. The timing of the series' release means and even busier February than before for F1 fans – the racing action will not yet have begin, though next month also has testing and all the car livery reveals lying in wait.
