Formula 1 2025 - Preview
Lando Norris finished second behind Max Verstappen in the 2024 standings, and many people believe he will challenge for the F1 title this season.
However, McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri could throw a spanner in the works. The Australian wants to be a world champion this year and his ambition is not a far-fetched dream.
The Melbourne-born star clinched victories in Hungary and Baku last year and will fancy his chances of adding more victories to his CV this term.
Piastri is a favourite with sports bettors in his home, who wager heavily on F1 races throughout the season. They will be eager to see him win the 2025 world title.
He is rated as a 13.00 shot by several Australian betting sites and those odds could look good value if he makes a strong start to the new season.
Piastri still has areas of his racecraft to refine, but he is improving at an unbelievable pace and could challenge his teammate for the title.
If McLaren arms both drivers with a Championship-winning car, it could spark one of the most fascinating intra-team battles since Lewis Hamilton versus Nico Rosenberg.
Hamilton is undoubtedly one of the main talking points of the 2025 season, having switched allegiances to Ferrari. The British driver is determined to find the Championship-winning spark missing in his final years with Mercedes.
The seven-time world champion will compete alongside Charles Leclerc as the Scuderia bid to secure their first drivers’ title since 2007. It will be intriguing to see how Ferrari balances its star drivers.
Red Bull have been the most dominant team in F1 for several years, but the chasing pack started to close the gap last season. Even though Verstappen secured his fourth world title, they lost the Constructors’ Championship to McLaren.
Liam Lawson has replaced Sergio Perez, but he will be under immense pressure to deliver results, especially after irking some F1 rivals last term.
The New Zealander could be a god bet to secure some podium finishes this season, but he is unlikely to trouble the main contenders in the title race.
