Former X Factor star set for Hollywood after landing lead role on two Netflix series

Former X Factor star Betsy-Blue English has turned her back on music and is set to crack Hollywood with leading roles in two Netflix series.

Betsy-Blue, 24, shot to fame on the popular ITV singing competition as part of band Only The Young in 2014 but she has shifted her focus into acting after moving to Los Angeles.

The blonde beauty made the huge leap to make the move across the Atlantic permanently and it has definitely been worth the upheaval.

It has been reported that Betsy-Blue has landed roles in two Netflix shows and also the lead in an upcoming film.

A source told MailOnline: "Betsy's so incredibly excited to be able to start a career stateside.

"She's been acting professionally since she was 12 and these are the opportunities she's dreamed of."

They added: "Betsy's managed to secure a leading role in two TV shows and a couple of movies. It's all happened very quickly.

"One of the television shows is created by the team behind 13 Reasons Why and The OA, and many more huge series she's a fan of."

She has made the move to California alongside songwriter David Stewart - the man behind K-Pop mega group BTS's hit Dynamite.

The couple started the year in positive fashion after David got on one knee and proposed in Japan.

This was followed by Canadian country star Shania Twain reaching number one in the album charts with Queen Of Me, with David producing and co-writing two singles - Giddy Up and Waking Up Dreaming.

Now, Betsy-Blue's acting career is starting to take off after a brief acting career in the UK.

According to IMDB, she has had six acting credits over the last eight years. Her most prominent role came before her appearance on X Factor in a TV series called Which Is Witch?

She has featured in small roles in horror film Prankz and comedy The Bromley Boys, while also appearing in A Wicked Plan, Tracey Ullman's Show and a TV mini series of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Only The Young, which Betsy-Blue was a part of alongside Parisa Tarjomani, Mikey Bromley and Charlie George, disbanded only a year after finishing seventh on the X Factor in 2014, which was won by Ben Haenow.
