FORMER world snooker champion Graeme Dott has made his first public court appearance as he faces child sex abuse allegations.
The 47-year-old Scot was in the dock for a brief five-minute hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today.
Dott - who won the world title in 2006 - is accused of charges involving two children dating between 1993 and 2010.
A hearing for him to enter a plea and for any trial to be set is scheduled to call later this year.
Dott’s appearance today occurred as prosecutors sought a review of his bail conditions.
No details of what they are were read out in open court.
Prosecutor Kath Harper KC did state Dott had never appeared on "petition" for the charges he will face.
This is an initial private hearing before a sheriff involving more serious, indictment-level accusations.
Any bail conditions in a case such as Dott’s are designed to be “protective” of any alleged victim.
Euan Dow, defending, said he did not object to the review.
Lord Arthurson went on to state to Dott: “Bail is continued in its varied form. In due course, you will appear for a preliminary hearing at the High Court.”
Dott, of the city’s Dennistoun, later left court alone following his appearance.
