The GOP presidential contest is still ongoing, but discussions about potential vice presidential candidates have already begun. Former Wisconsin governor and 2016 presidential candidate has suggested that former President Trump should consider selecting a current governor as his running mate if he secures the nomination.

According to the former governor, having a governor on the ticket would send a strong message to swing voters in battleground states and younger voters who prioritize economic issues. He specifically mentioned governors Kim Reynolds and Kristi Noem as strong contenders due to their track records as problem solvers.

The former governor highlighted the importance of unity within the party by considering individuals who may not have initially supported Trump during the primary process but are willing to support him now. He also emphasized the value of having a vice president who is not afraid to voice their opinions and provide pushback when necessary.

When discussing potential candidates, the former governor favored governors due to their executive experience and ability to get the job done. He particularly praised Kim Reynolds for her accomplishments in areas such as school choice, tax cuts, and social conservative issues.

Additionally, the former governor suggested that having a Midwest candidate like Reynolds on the ticket could be beneficial in states like Wisconsin and Michigan, which Trump narrowly lost in 2020 but could potentially win with the right candidate.

Lastly, the former governor speculated about the possibility of a wildcard pick for vice president, emphasizing Trump's unconventional nature and hinting that the final selection might surprise many observers.
