Former Washington defensive Chris “Swaggy” Baker is recovering from a stroke he suffered last week, according to TMZ.
TMZ shared images from Baker’s Instagram story, where he said the following: “Tell Your love ones you love em my life almost ended 2days ago,” Baker wrote.

Baker was an undrafted free agent out of Hampton in 2009. After spending time with the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins in his first two seasons, Baker’s big NFL break came with the then-Washington Redskins in 2011. He signed with Washington’s practice squad in September and was promoted to the active roster in December.
After being a rotational player in 2012, Baker became a full-time starter in 2013, where he remained for four seasons. Baker left Washington after the 2016 season, signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an unrestricted free agent.
Baker spent one season with the Bucs before spending some time with the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2018 offseason. He was released before the 2018 season and never played again.
Baker appeared in 93 NFL games, making 55 starts, and recorded 214 tackles, including 28 for loss and 12 sacks.
Baker has remained a supporter/fan of the Washington Commanders in recent years.
