The Minnesota Vikings could go in a myriad of ways in the NFL draft. They could easily trade up in the draft, but it takes two to tango. Getting up into the top 10 will be a challenge.
In a mock draft run by former executives Mike Tannenbaum and Rick Spielman for The 33rd Team, Spielman sent the Vikings TCU WR Quentin Johnston.
Cornerback was under consideration for this pick, but Johnston was just too good to pass up for the Minnesota Vikings. Johnston is a long, rangy, athletic receiver with great speed down the field. He also does an excellent job with the ball in his hands after the catch.
The Vikings cut Adam Thielen but still need a partner to go with Justin Jefferson, making Johnston the right choice.
The Vikings have a massive need at wide receiver and Johnston’s ability to both get yards after catch and stretch the field would be a great complement to Justin Jefferson.
