The Minnesota Vikings were hoping for a reunion with cornerback Patrick Peterson but that won’t come to fruition. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with Peterson on a contract.
Both sides had hinted about wanting a reuinion, but Peterson also wanted to try and get a Super Bowl ring, something that doesn’t seem to be in the plans for the Vikings next season. Last year, Peterson was PFF’s fourth-best cornerback in coverage and played well in Ed Donatell’s version of the Vic Fangio defense.
With Peterson leaving, that leaves only Duke Shelley and Kris Boyd left on the market that the Vikings could bring back.
