The Minnesota Vikings just lost cornerback Patrick Peterson to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday afternoon and minutes later, a potential reunion with another was also nixed.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Washington Commanders have claimed former Vikings cornerback Cameron Dantzler Sr.
The former third-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft had a tumultulous time with the Vikings. He got playing time consistently, but his injuries paird with up and down play resulted in both multiple benchings and the Vikings waiving him on Saturday, March 11th.
In Washington, he will go to a defense that understands how to use tall cornerbacks and will be able to play opposite of Benjamin St. Juste.
