President Biden recently made headlines when he announced his intention to withhold weapons from Israel if it entered the southern Gaza city of Rafah. This decision was met with criticism from former Vice President Mike Pence, who accused Biden of hypocrisy in light of past events.

In an interview with CNN, Biden expressed concern over civilian casualties in Gaza and stated that he would not supply weapons historically used in dealing with conflicts in Rafah. He emphasized the importance of ensuring Israel's security through measures like the Iron Dome defense system.

Pence, however, condemned Biden's stance, labeling it as 'totally unacceptable' and accusing him of abandoning Israel to appease certain factions within his party. He argued that it was Biden's duty to execute the aid approved by Congress and that withholding it for political reasons was unjustifiable.

Furthermore, Pence drew parallels to the impeachment of former President Trump, citing allegations of withholding foreign aid as a basis for impeachment. He stressed the importance of standing by Israel and supporting its efforts to combat groups like Hamas.

Senator Tom Cotton also weighed in on the issue, calling for potential impeachment proceedings against Biden. The controversy surrounding Biden's decision has reignited debates over foreign aid, political motivations, and the U.S.'s relationship with Israel.

As tensions continue to escalate in the region, the discourse surrounding U.S. support for Israel remains a contentious topic that is likely to shape future diplomatic relations and political discourse.
