Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg has been sentenced to five months in jail on perjury charges after admitting to testifying falsely during Donald Trump's civil fraud trial. Weisselberg faced five counts of perjury but reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to two felony counts related to his testimony during a 2020 deposition with the attorney general's office.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors recommended a five-month jail sentence for Weisselberg. He confessed to providing false testimony about his knowledge of the size of Trump's apartment triplex and how its value was inflated on financial statements due to incorrect square footage.
Although Weisselberg admitted to testifying falsely at the civil fraud trial, this was not included in the charges to which he pleaded guilty. The plea deal stipulated that he would not be sentenced for this conduct, which could have violated his parole from his 2022 guilty plea.
This marks the second guilty plea by Weisselberg, who previously pleaded guilty in 2022 to 15 counts of tax fraud and testified in the trial of two Trump Organization entities. Following his 2022 guilty plea, he served approximately four months in prison.
