Charlton Athletic owner Thomas Sandgaard has rejected an improved takeover bid from former Sunderland director Charlie Methven.
That is according to The Athletic, who report the Anglo-American group led by Methven's latest offer is below Sandgaard's valuation for the club.
The group are known as SE7 Partners Limited and had previously agreed to buy a 90% stake in the Addicks in December before that deal fell through in February.

SE7 Partners had even installed Dean Holden as the club's new manager and had overseen the appointment of key executives, including former Sunderland chief executive Jim Rodwell - although he has since left the club.
The group paid an initial £260,000 deposit and claimed Sandgaard had pulled out because he had been offered more money from a rival bid. Sandgaard, however, said it was because the group had breached the terms of their agreement, which led to a threat of legal action from Methven's group.
Methven, of course, previously held the role of executive director of Sunderland and held a six per cent stake in the club after Stewart Donald and Juan Sartori's takeover of the club in 2018.
Despite Donald and Methven being initially popular in the wake of Ellis Short's departure, their popularity plummeted before he resigned from the board for 'personal reasons' in December 2019.
